Artist Application

Thank you for your interest in the Mural Arts Program. It is our mission to represent the work of diverse
Artists, and to enrich our neighborhoods and communities. We strive to appropriately match artists with
mural painting and teaching,opportunities throughout the City of Philadelphia. To apply as an Artist, or as
a student in our Mural Training Program, please fill out the electronic form below.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed annually in mid-January. Please know that the
number of applications we receive exceeds the number of artists we can hire for projects.

During the review process, your application will be placed in one of three categories:

• Applicants fully qualified to receive a mural commission will be placed in a pool to be considered
  for upcoming commissions.
• Applicants with strong skills, who would benefit from more mural experience will be placed in a
  pool to be considered to either assist in future mural projects or enter the Mural Training Program.
• We invite all other applicants to further develop their portfolios and apply again in the future.

Please submit the following items to complete the application process:

1) Completed artists application
2) Current resume
3) No more than 10 digital images on CD or 10 color photocopies/prints of your work.

Do not send portfolios, binders, original artwork, photographs, or images for which you do not have
duplicates. All submitted images are for our permanent files and will not be returned.

• Digital images should have the following specifications: .jpg format with a .jpg extension, RGB
  color, and 1240 pixels X 1240 pixels maximum in size.
• The following naming conventions should be used for your digital images: your last name, first
  initial of your first name, number 01 through 10, and then the .jpg extension (ex. smithj-0l.jpg)
• Color printed images should be on 8.5 x 11 paper and should be labeled on the back in the
  following manner: # 1-10, artist's name, title of work, size and date.

Please note: Labels protect your images against loss.
