Government works best when each member of the community actively participates through civic engagement. The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program is undertaking a project which attempts to encourage this relationship by bridging the gap between today's leaders and tomorrow's voices. Teenagers approaching the voting age were asked to reflect on the Mayor's Strategic Plan for the City of Philadelphia, and their voices are now coming to life on the walls of the City Hall Concourse underneath 15th Street & JFK Boulevard.
The Mayor has a plan for Philadelphia, and it is our responsibility to get involved. The Mural Arts Program invites you to share your opinions at Voices in Transit, an exhibition highlighting the process and message behind this mural.
Voices in Transit, a project by Phillip Adams and Don Gensler with students from the University of Pennsylvania, is sponsored by the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
