Holding Ground in Philadelphia & Lenapehoking

Join us to learn about the benefits of community agriculture and Indigenous stewardship in Lenapehoking (the greater Philadelphia area). Hear from panelists providing spaces for community members to own and reconnect with the land, tending it for food, healing, and justice in and around the city. The four panelists have generated ownership through various strategies from land swaps, land back, to land banks. These spaces provide a more just future amongst a rapidly changing landscape and act as cultural hubs for local residents.

Holding Ground Panel is a part of the Climate Justice Initiative’s HUB events at the César Andreu Iglesias Community Garden. The Climate Justice Initiative uses the power of public art to tell stories about the causes, effects, and solutions to the climate crisis in Lenapehoking (the greater Philadelphia region).

We are a collaboration between front-line organizers, activists, and artists, convened by the Environmental Justice Department of Mural Arts Philadelphia.
