End the Exception Mural Dedication

The 13th Amendment abolished slavery except for those convicted of a crime. Come witness the dedication of a new mural reflecting on this complicated history and present struggle for liberation. The mural dedication will be a part of the African American Museum in Philadelphia’s (AAMP) “Rhythms of Liberation from Juneteenth to Beyond” music series. The mural designed by Ernel Martinez was created in partnership with Worth Rises, an advocacy organization dedicated to dismantling the prison industrial complex, and AAMP.
