Dear Mural Arts Friends,

I am thrilled to announce that, as of July 1, 2024, Mural Arts has a new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Lisa Murch.

Lisa brings over 20 years of arts administration and education experience to her new role. She began her journey with Mural Arts as a muralist in 2001, painting her first mural as a Lead Teaching Artist.

Since then, she has advanced through the organization, most recently serving as Director of Art Education. In this role, she led a team of 28, implementing art education programs for more than 2,000 K-12 students annually. Her experience, leadership, creativity, and passion for the arts made her an outstanding candidate for COO.

She is dedicated to generating opportunities throughout Philadelphia, using creativity to advance our community’s sense of identity and direction.

Lisa has also represented Mural Arts on numerous platforms, presenting at the Ifetayo Conference in Brazil, the Living Walls Conference in Atlanta, and the National Guild for Arts Education Conference. Her talents as an artist have earned her several fellowships and grants, including the Independence Foundation Fellowship, the Leeway Foundation Window of Opportunity Grant, and the Prince of Wales Foundation Fellowship. She holds a BA from Denison University and an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

As we embark on this new chapter with Lisa in her new role, we are confident that her deep commitment to accessibility, diversity, justice, and equity will inspire change, foster creativity, and strengthen our impact across Philadelphia. We look forward to continuing our mission of transforming the city through the power of art. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our shared vision.

Sincerely,

Jane Golden, Executive Director
