Getting to the Roots: Environmental Justice Unit Workshop for Educators

“Getting to the Roots” is a workshop hosted by Mural Arts Institute focusing on environmental justice and climate action for 8th-grade educators. The workshop introduces art- and action-based lesson plans aligning with Pennsylvania education standards, led by Jonathan Sidharta Leibovic, Gamar Markarian, and Eurhi Jones. Sessions are available virtually and in-person, specifically at the site of the Climate Justice in Lenapehoking mural in Philadelphia.

Attendees will receive print-outs of lesson materials and have the opportunity to engage with the mural created in collaboration with local artists and activists. Refreshments will be provided at in-person sessions, and registration is free through the event’s Eventbrite page. Inquiries should be directed institute@muralarts.org.
