Don Veon

Don Veon is the Senior Director of Finance and Board Treasurer, having joined the Executive Team in January 2021. With a strong background in financial management and operations, Don has been instrumental in steering the organization toward financial stability and growth. His career spans over two decades, marked by significant roles in various prestigious organizations in Philadelphia.

At Mural Arts, Don oversees all financial procedures, ensuring legal, grant, and contractual compliance. His role is crucial in maintaining audit readiness and managing financial analysis and reporting. His advisory to the Board of Directors is invaluable, and he plays a pivotal role in managing the IT department and overseeing capital projects and their funding.

Before joining Mural Arts, Don was the Director of Finance at Visit Philadelphia, managing financial procedures and compliance reporting. His experience also includes a tenure as Controller at 12th Street Gym Inc., demonstrating his ability to handle financial responsibilities in diverse sectors.

Don’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident from his time as the owner and an ACE-certified personal trainer at Fitness for Living, showcasing his versatility and adaptability. His earlier roles at the Independence Visitor Center Corporation and Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau highlight his foundational experience in operations and visitor services, contributing to his comprehensive understanding of Philadelphia’s cultural and non-profit landscape.

Don attended Kent State University with a major in Business Administration and minors in Accounting & Business Law. His commitment to the community extends beyond professional duties, as seen in his board service and volunteer work with several local organizations.
