Heart Of Kensington Creates Press Event

Mural Arts Philadelphia presents Heart of Kensington Creates, a community-driven initiative celebrating the identity, resilience, and creative spirit of Kensington through a series of public art installations and neighborhood activations. In partnership with Impact Services and Councilmember Quetcy Lozada’s Office, the project will bring twelve new murals, community-led art along the SEPTA “El,” the return of Afromation Avenue, local gallery activations, and streetscape improvements to Kensington Avenue.

Running from April through September 2026 and culminating in a neighborhood-wide celebration in August, this initiative reflects a deep investment in uplifting local voices and transforming public space through art. Media are invited to hear directly from project partners, artists, and community leaders at a press event on April 24 at Mural Arts’ Kensington Storefront.
