CB Kimmins Mural Dedication

This mural by artist shanina dionna honors the late activist  C.B. Kimmins, co-founder of Mantua Against Drugs. For four decades, equipped with just a bullhorn and a hard hat, Mr. Kimmins and fellow activists patrolled the streets of Mantua at night bravely confronting the city’s toughest drug dealers. As former City Council member Jannie Blackwell remarked, “He wouldn’t give in, and he wouldn’t give up.”  During the dedication event the street will be officially renamed CB Kimmins Way.  Kimmins’ daughter, Brielle Kimmins, who is a passionate advocate for her father’s legacy, will honor his memory by planting bulbs and sunflowers.  The event will feature soul food and music (weather permitting) and an art activity for children led by the mural artist.
