Olek’s Love Across the USA project is coming to Philadelphia, and you can be part of it! This massive crochet mural is a community-made public art project that highlights the accomplishments of women throughout US history, and brings people together through workshops and installations.

Even if you’ve never crocheted before, the workshop leaders will teach you this fun, new skill. All the pieces of the mural will come together to reveal the portrait of a woman important to Philadelphia history—so far, portraits have included Susan B. Anthony (Rochester, NY), Harriet Tubman (Auburn, NY), and Nina Simone (Raleigh, NC).

This is the second of two workshops on March 17; the first workshop is from 9 a.m.–noon at Marian Anderson Rec Center.
