Wali “Wonder” Jones Shoot for the Stars Mural Dedidcation

We Embrace Fatherhood, in collaboration with Mural Arts Philadelphia, the Mantua Civic Association and PC Radio Live will celebrate the dedication of Philadelphia’s newest mural on Friday, July 21st from 2—6pm at the HUB Playground at 37th and Mt. Vernon Streets in Mantua. This vibrant new mural, created by Gabe Tiberino and Taqiy Muhammed, honors the life and achievements of Wali “The Wonder” Jones, member of the World Champion Philadelphia 76’ers team of 1967, All East Regional player for Villanova, MVP of the USA Senior Dream Team, beloved educator, activist and community member whose Shoot for the Stars introduces Philadelphia’s youth to the rigor, discipline, joy and commitment that are all critical to success, both on and off the court. The dedication event will celebrate the strength of the Mantua neighborhood with delicious grilled food, music provided by DJs from PC Radio Live, and family art projects led by the Art Bus.
