Ability to Fly

Ability to Fly by artist Ana Uribe was located in the Penn-Knox neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural represents flying as a symbol to overcome physical limitations or disabilities, defying the laws of nature through the cooperation and integration of a community fully nourished by compassion, love, wisdom, courage, and respect; which enables the participants to do wonders and work miracles together.
Ana Uribe chose the artist Russian-French Marc Chagall (1887-1985) as a big inspiration for this visual message because he, as an artist, was full of wonder, and a poet of love rich in symbols and images that can explain the ideas of ability, partnership, and community integration.
LOCATION NOTE: Mural no longer on view at this location (Painted over ca. 2012).
