This mural unites the unparalleled talents of two Philadelphia luminaries: Danny Simmons, a leading neo-African Abstract Expressionist painter and poet, and Sonia Sanchez, an esteemed poet of the Black Arts Movement. Sonia Sanchez was inspired by one of Danny Simmons' seminal pieces, The Red Rooster, to craft an exclusive haiku that adorns the mural. The visual artwork was expertly executed by Efrain Herrera, with skillful assistance from Darya Prudnikova.
