Almost Home

Almost Home is the result of a series of workshops held at A New Life Recovery Learning Center, a low-demand recovery and education center located in West Philadelphia managed by Mental Health Partnerships. A New Life Recovery Learning Center offers participants who are experiencing homelessness and/or mental health conditions access to social activities, services, and the necessities of daily life. Artist Eric Okdeh worked with participants to create a mural that reflected their journeys and the promise of a welcome home. The mural features portraits of A New Life participants and community members from the neighborhood around the wall.
