Engage the Change

Engage the Change, a mural from artist Ernel Martinez, highlights the experiences of former Secretary of State General Colin L. Powell. Students studied former Secretary of State Powell’s work, and created a design that highlights his dynamic public experiences.

Powell is also the former chairman of the Eisenhower Fellowships, of which Jane Golden, Mural Arts Executive Director, has been a cohort member since 2003. Through the Engage the Change project, Jane Golden helped connect our students with another esteemed Fellow, DHS Commissioner Cynthia Figueroa, to learn firsthand about the qualities and importance of being a leader.
