My Crazy Red Rooster

My Crazy Red Rooster is a mural that brings together the creative genius of two Philadelphia icons: neo-African Abstract Expressionist painter and poet Danny Simmons and celebrated Black Arts Movement poet Sonia Sanchez. Ms. Sanchez selected one of three works created by Danny Simmons, entitled The Red Rooster, to inspire her to create an original haiku to accompany it on the mural wall. The mural was painted by Efrain Herrera with assistance from Dasha Prudnikova.
