Fairmount Waltz

Fairmount Waltz by artist David S. Gordon is located in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The mural is a reflection of Gordon’s thoughts on the rhythm of life in Fairmount. He remarked that while conducting research for the project, he found that the neighborhood was not only full of history, arts and culture, but was also a place people truly loved to live. Dancing in the enter of the mural is Gordon’s son and daughter in law who met during the model photoshoot for this mural. Also included are references to the nearby Schuylkill River and Thomas Eakins, a famous American painter, whose Cello Player is rendered in the foreground.
