Philadelphia Pharmacy

Philadelphia Pharmacy by artist Parris Stancell was painted on two walls of the Philadelphia Pharmacy building in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A lush green park with perfectly manicured trees line a river in front of the Philadelphia Skyline. The park is populated by people doing various activities from walking and playing to being amorous with each other. This mural provided a respite to the sick and injured so entered the pharmacy for assistance showing them that the grass would be greener on the other side.

Though this mural is no longer on view at Philadelphia Pharmacy, the site has been home to a series of murals created in 1996, 2005 and 2017.

Location Note: Mural no longer on view at this location (replaced with new mural at same site in 2005).
