Urban Jungle

This mural is entitled Urban Jungle by Betsy Casañas. Service recipients from Asociacion Puertorriquenos en Marcha (APM) at the Rising Sun Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation clinic joined with community members to beautify the interior and exterior of the APM clinic with simple, organic, colorful images of plant life. Hanging plants and flora were also brought into the space, transforming the clinic into a vibrant, warm, and inviting atmosphere. Participants worked closely with the artist to learn painting, drawing, and greening skills. The goal is to positively impact those who frequent the space, giving them a sense of beauty and vibrancy through color and warmth in an unexpected place.
