Messages from Mom

Messages from Mom by artist Delia King is painted on an interior wall of the Riverside Correctional Facility for women in the Upper Holmesburg neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural features series of abstract mandala-like shapes in a field of singular flowers. A border separates the main portion of the mural from the upper register which contains mountain like shapes. Within the border are small circles containing portraits of a mother talking to her children, who surround her.
