Transformation

Transformation by Eric Okdeh brought the Elwyn Institute and several behavioral health organizations together with community members to discuss the journey of recovery and stigma associated with a mental health diagnoses. During poetry and drawing workshops throughout the city and at Graterford Prison, participants provided ideas, text, and imagery for the mural’s design. Participants learned the art of mosaic and created the stunning glass sunflower, a central symbol in the mural, representing an individual’s journey throughout the stages of recovery as they find their own path toward growth.
