One World

The design of One World by Ann Northrup is a grand and cinematic vision celebrating the scope and diversity of rural markets in India, Africa, and Central America and includes hundreds of people. The unusual rounded top of the rowhouse creates the sense that the viewer can move out to the edge of the earth to experience far-off lands that are no longer so far away, celebrating the beauty of our world and encouraging care for the planet.

The mural was removed in 2020 because of expansion at Independence Charter School. In 2022, the mural was reenvisioned as One World, A Monument to the Diaspora at 2100 Market Street in Philadelphia.
