Healthy Choices

Healthy Choices by artist Cavin Jones was located in the Ludlow neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Painted for the Girard Medical Center, the mural showcases four qualities of life: health, family, strength, and revitalization. The colorful borders around the mural represent Taíno symbols. The Taîno peoples were the original people of the Caribbean Islands when Columbus landed there in 1492. Their cultural roots extended back for generations before the arrival of Europeans and they continue to have strong roots in many of the people who live in Philadelphia.
