Lenapehokink: K&T Trail

Lenapehokink: K&T Trail is a series of 11 mini-mural banners by artist Lisa Kelley installed along the Delaware River K & T Trail at Lardner’s Point Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The banners were created as part of a collaboration between Riverfront North Partnership, and Mural Arts Philadelphia/Tacony LAB artist-in-residence Lisa Kelley. This project was a journey to reconnect current residents with the indigenous Lenape roots of the land along the Delaware River in the Tacony neighborhood. Through a series of free events, local community members translated nature observations along the trail into printmaking in the studio that were used in this final project. These art pieces culminated into the creation of 11 banners prominently displayed along the riverfront park paths as a celebration of nature in these spaces and the deeply rooted indigenous history.
