Tropical Landscape with Waterfall

Tropical Landscape with Waterfall by artist Ana Uribe was located in the Norris Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural is a companion to Caribbean Sunrise and The Palm Tree mural that were located nearby. Most of the rich landscape’s detail was created as Uribe painted. She drew inspiration from photographs, and trees in the neighborhood and even the plants in her home. The large red flowers are a salute to her mother’s garden at Uribe’s childhood home in Colombia. If you look closely you can see a parrot and two monkeys hidden among the greenery in the mural.

The mural was restored in 2003 and 2011.
