Through The Cracks In The Pavement

Through The Cracks In The Pavement by artist Paul Santoleri is located in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. True to the title he gave the mural, Santoleri wanted the flowers he painted to look like they were emerging from between the cracks in the wall and overtaking the building with natural beauty. To add texture and make the flowers physically leave the wall, the artist used cast glass in the center portions. This catches the light and the eye making the design extend beyond the bounds of the two dimensional world into the three dimensional one.
