Shoot for the Stars! A Tribute to Wali “The Wonder” Jones, a mural by artists Gabe Tiberino and Taqiy Muhammad, is located in the Mantua neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It honors the life and achievements of Wali “The Wonder” Jones, a member of the World Champion Philadelphia 76ers team of 1967, an All East Regional player for Villanova, MVP of the USA Senior Dream Team, beloved educator, activist, and community member. The mural introduces Philadelphia’s youth to the rigor, discipline, joy, and commitment that are critical to success, both on and off the court. Jones has partnered with We Embrace Fatherhood and The HUB Coalition, two youth development-focused organizations founded by Mantua community leaders, to lead programming both on and off the courts. The mural features a quote by Joe Walker, founder of the HUB Coalition.
