Seeds of Knowledge

Seeds of Knowledge by artist Michael Schwartz is located in the North Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The mural is an allegory for the school as a place where knowledge grows. A pair of hands spread seeds against a garden filled with a bounty of vegetables and flowers in bloom. A vine grows from the hands, extending to a child floating against the sun in the sky. Figures surround the verdant garden as witnesses to this experience of learning. The mural is set against a backdrop of the Philadelphia city skyline from the perspective of the school.
