Join us in dedicating Porch Portal, by artist Shira Walinsky, celebrates the porch life in Germantown. The larger than life flowers and rays of light coming through a doorway and on the porch represent a walk through Germantown in the late Spring or Summer. The plants are set out on the street and a lucky cardinal watches over the street. The design was created with ink drawings and collage and is the result of extensive community conversation and survey responses. In fall of 2024, we hosted a community paint day, during which residents painted directly on the wall. The mural brings warmth and vibrancy to an important community hub of the Germantown Avenue commercial corridor.
