Monarch Butterfly, Milkweed Flowers and Dragonfly

Monarch Butterfly, Milkweed Flowers and Dragonfly is an exterior mural created by artist Alana Bograd at Dorsey Playground in the Tacony neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bograd and students at Dorsey Playground created art inspired by the color, texture, pattern, movement of insects, and by their role as ecological indicators in the neighborhood. In addition to the outdoor mural at Dorsey, they also painted the interior ceiling fans to represent the wings of four different insect species: bees, butterflies, dragonflies, and grasshoppers.
