Printmaking by the People: Taller Puertorriqueño x Brandywine Linocut Workshop

This is the first workshop in a three part series with Brandywine Workshop and Archives. The workshop will be led by teaching artists Marta Sanchez and Caleb Perez with a brief historical overview of the Declaration of Independence from Ava Haitz. Participants will create their very own relief print using linoleum.

This event is part of Mural Arts’ Printmaking by the People, a city-wide project that will help commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration by asking Philadelphians the question, if the Declaration were to be written today, what rights would you want it to include? Come join us and have a chance for your work to serve as inspiration for an upcoming mural and to be shown in an exhibition at the Free Library!

No prior printing experience is necessary. This will be a bilingual event in both Spanish and English. Please reach out to printmaking@muralarts.org if you are interested in this event.
