Florie Dotson

Florie Dotson by artist Karl Yoder was located in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Requested by the community to honor the tireless neighborhood leader and activist, this mural celebrates Dotson and her husband, Johnny Dotson, for their many contributions to the community. The mural depicts the Dotsons together along a path through a community green space. Signs in the mural encourage voting and equal housing. The Dotson’s were pillars in their community involved in beautifying the neighborhood and supporting civic engagement.

“In memory of Florie and Johnny Dotson
They who give have all things; They who withhold have nothing”
