Where We Reside

Where We Reside is one of two murals by artist Jamee Grigsby located in the interior of the Laura W. Waring School in Philadelphia’s Fairmount neighborhood. The murals replaced two existing murals to brighten and update one interior stairwell and a hallway. As a graphic designer and muralist in Philadelphia, Grigsby strives to create murals that not only beautify the city but also speak to its diverse communities. Through the use of bold colors and intricate designs, these murals aim to inspire, uplift, and create connection with the students, staff, and others who encounter them, in support of the school’s mission.

The mural in the stairwell features local flowers and cityscapes and Grigsby’s classic dew drops and whimsical lines. The other mural, located in a hallway, features the text“ Ignite THE Imagination” surrounded by floral patterns.
