As part of the citywide Monument Lab exhibition, photographer Jamel Shabazz is coming to Germantown, taking part in Oldies in the Park, presented by Councilwoman Cindy Bass. Jamel will photograph community members as part of a series of photo sessions through this fall as part of his Love Is the Message project.

The general public, and veterans and their families in particular, are all invited to participate; no RSVP necessary. Please bring an optional photo, memento, or other special object, and if a veteran, an item tied to military service. All who are photographed will be given a copy of their portraits.

Partners for Jamel Shabazz’s project include the Aces Museum, Friends of Vernon Park, Germantown United CDC, the Office of Councilwoman Cindy Bass, and the City of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.
