Above the Clouds

Above the Clouds by artist Eric Okdeh is located at the entrance to St. Christopher’s Pediatric Associates in Northeast Philadelphia. The mural is the second collaboration between Okdeh and St. Christopher’s Hospital (the first mural, Soar to High Heights was completed in 2017 and is located at the hospital’s main location at 150 East Erie Avenue). This mural echoes the themes of the first mural, depicting children floating through the sky in hot air balloons amid a backdrop of other hot air balloons that are heading off into the sunrise. The hospital coordinated a day for Okdeh to photograph the youth featured in the painting. Where the 2017 project featured patients, this mural features children of parents who work at the hospital.
