All Join Hands: Myers Rec Center

by artist Eric Okdeh was located on the exterior of the Francis J. Myers Recreation Center in the Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Three large walls of the rec center were designed and painted in partnership with youth from the Kingsessing and Southwest Philadelphia neighborhoods that frequent the building. Over the course of one summer, students engaged in mural and poetry workshops to bring the project to fruition, to address the violence that plagued the area, and to express a desire for a better tomorrow.
