Alphabet Bridges (Mascher Street)

Artist Carlos “Calo” Rosa worked with members of The Guild of the Restorative Justice Program to create Alphabet Bridges. Located on three bridges that cross the railroad tracks that run parallel to Lehigh Avenue in the Kensington section of the city, the murals reflect lively colors and shapes with floral patterns to create bright passageways, metaphors for connecting the past with the present.
Youth from Visitation BVM School and residents from Somerset Villas also participated in paint days.
Location Note: This project is one of three bridges located at Front, Mascher and A Streets between Tusculum and Gurney Streets in Philadelphia.
