Apprised

Apprised by David Gordon depicts a busy day in the covered High Street Market on September 19, 1787. This public space was frequented by the diverse population of Philadelphia at that time. A woman is reading aloud from the edition of the Philadelphia Packet newspaper that has printed the text of the new constitution. Three contemporary girls look back on this page in history.

This is one of two murals at this site commemorating the 1787-88 Constitution.
