Mural Arts, in partnership with the Anti-Defamation League, worked with students at Bok Technical High School and Southwark Elementary School on an initiative to pilot a timely and meaningful project grounded in messages of tolerance and celebrating difference. The “No Place For Hate” project involved students at these diverse schools in a three-tier effort, including a photo-documentation project around the varied cultural fabric of the neighborhood, a small interior mural with younger students, and a collaboratively-created comic/coloring book that serves to communicate messages of understanding and awareness to youth and neighbors of all ages and backgrounds.

Over a series of workshops, the artist worked with students at Bok Technical High School and Southwark Elementary School to create a diversity quilt. The Diversity Quilt is comprised of images taken of the students and members of surrounding community, the purpose of which is to show a wide range of ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity.
