Collaborative Efforts

Collaborative Efforts was an effort toward bringing “community” to one of Philadelphia’s central educational sites, the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP). Artist Charles Barbin created a digital mural montage using imagery from existing Mural Arts Program murals for the interior space of the new Pavilion Building on the CCP’s main campus. Located within the student center, cafeteria, and lounge spaces of the building, two walls are covered with industrial wallcovering that is adorned with the mural montage centering on the theme of community. The goal was to evoke the sense of “universal community” representing the broad diversity of individuals served by CCP as well as their ongoing mission to instill goodwill and civic engagement in all who pass through their doors.

Location Note: This is an interior mural located inside the Community College of Philadelphia Pavilion Building. It may not always be available for public viewing.
