Dream in Flight

Dream in Flight by artist Josh Sarantitis was located in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The mural depicts a young girl with her arm outstretched towards a fledgling bird. The imagery emphasizes strength and the human spirit. The bird coming out of its shell symbolizes hope for the girl as she grows up. The mural is a combination of traditional painting techniques as well as mosaic and ceramic elements. The bird coming out of its shell symbolizes the hope the girl provides as she grows up.

This project served as a model for the new direction of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, allowing for the creation of even more challenging mural projects.
