Haverford Trolley Stop

Haverford Trolley Stop by artist Paul Santoleri is located in the Mantua neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The scene depicts a bird’s eye view of Philadelphia from the perspective of the apartment (an old false teeth factory) at the time the mural was created. The trolley tracks were a factor of separating the park from the neighborhood.
The project was done in cooperation with the education department at the Philadelphia Museum of Art where students created tiles to frame the mural. The children assisted in installing their tiles onto the wall.
Restored in 2011, new relief tile patterns were added to give the scene new life to replace the older deteriorating and missing tiles.
