Helping Energize & Rebuild Ourselves
Helping Energize & Rebuild Ourselves, a mural by artist Lee Behl, is located at the HERO Center in North Philadelphia. It was created in the summer of 2007 when two dozen students from Dobbins and Gratz High Schools worked with Behl to design and paint the mural that celebrates the HERO CEenter. HERO stands for Helping Energize and Rebuild Ourselves, which is a non-profit organization committed to bettering the lives of Philadelphia residents. At the time the mural was painted, the HERO Center was the only community center in the area. The mural features portraits of local children.
Location Note: Mural no longer on view at this location (lost to demolition ca. 2024).
