Helping Hands (Maritime Academy Charter School)

Helping Hands designed by Robert Bruce Bullock and painted by Harvey Weinreich was located on the Maritime Academy Charter School in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This mural stretched along multiple walls of the building filling every inch of its 15 foot height with images of, as the title suggests, people helping each other. A mural about what a dedicated community can do when they put their heads together and help one another out. The mural features the text: “We were given two hands one to help ourselves and one to help others.”

Location Note: Mural no longer on view at this location (painted out ca. 2017).
