Inside Out/Dreamers in Philadelphia

Inside Out/Dreamers is a global participatory art project from world-renowned artist JR. Launched in 2011, this interactive traveling truck gives everyone the opportunity to share their portrait to show support for the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). The project pays tribute to the power and dignity of individuals, calling for collective action around this issue and providing a platform for organizations and individuals to speak in support of Dreamers in their communities. The truck came to Philadelphia in December, 2017. So far, over 300,000 people have participated in 141 countries, sharing their portraits to express what they stand for. The public was able to participate in this temporary public art installation to stand by Dreamers and organizations that have been doing the work to protect and support immigrant children and families in Philadelphia.
