Interlacings

Interlacings by artists Juan Dimida and Micke Smash is painted on the exterior of the Horatio B. Hackett School in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Filled with intricate knot work, plants, animals and modeled pieces of concrete affixed to the walls, the images portrayed in the mural are drawn from various Celtic traditions and meant to invoke the overall health of the community. These images wrap around the curved exterior walls of the school placing the building in an embrace meant to prop up the students who support the communities future.
