Japanese Rock Garden

Japanese Rock Garden by artist Patricia Ingersoll was located in the Hawthorne neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Meant to provide a contemplative backdrop to the surrounding urban/commercial neighborhood, this mural is one of the few funded by individual donors. Many of Mural Arts Philadelphia murals are created with the local community heavily involved in the process, with this mural the idea came directly from the funders. While the community was skeptical at first they liked the finished mural in the end.
