About the Project 

In partnership with Philadelphia-based muralist, curator, hip-hop ambassador, and community organizer Christian “TAMEARTZ” Rodriguez and artist Bill Strobel celebrate 50 years of Hip-Hop at 900 Cecil B. Moore. The project is a walkthrough of the elements of hip-hop and includes images of world-renowned and locally-acclaimed DJs, MCs, Graffiti writers, and Breakers. This project illustrates the importance of unity and the impact that Hip-Hop culture has had worldwide. This project included workshops and artistic opportunities for the Mural Arts Restorative Justice Guild and Rec Crew program participants including a Film screening and Block Party Dedication! Stay tuned for the continuation of this series of murals honoring 50 Years of Hip-Hop!
