Know the Elements: An Ode to Hip Hop is a mural by Christian “TAMEARTZ” Rodriguez and Bill Strobel located in North Philadelphia. It was produced and installed with the full permission of SEPTA, the site owner. The use of graffiti in this first-of-its-kind design is not an endorsement of unauthorized art but a celebration of a beloved, influential, and globally recognized visual art form, which is a key element of hip-hop. The project is a walkthrough of the elements of hip-hop and includes images of world-renowned and locally-acclaimed DJs, MCs, graffiti writers, and breakers. This project illustrates the importance of unity and the impact that hip-hop culture has had worldwide.

The mural includes notable hip-hop artists DJ Jazzy Jeff, B-girl PepC, Reef The Lost Cauze, B-boy BoxWon, Michele from Ladies of Hip-Hop, B-boy YNOT, DESIL, Skeme Richards, The Boys (PROPH & BEEZY), DJ Nashira, Bboy El Niño, Queen Jo, and INFA.
