Kobe and Gianna Bryant

Kobe and Gianna Bryant by artist Ernel Martinez is a memorial to the beloved basketball hero and his daughter who tragically lost their lives in 2021.

Philadelphia is special to the Bryant family. Kobe Bryant was born here, and so was his love for basketball. Growing up, he played on these courts, and was proud to be from Philadelphia. He often returned, and toured with his family all his beloved places in the city.

His wife Vanessa Bryant chose to dedicate this mural and Dream Court with Nancy Lieberman Charities so the Philadelphia community may share in continuing the legacy of Kobe and Gianna Bryant, who would be happy to know that boys and girls in Philly will now have the opportunity to compete, learn, and play through the game they loved so much.
